MitoWorld
MITOWORLD™, www.MitoWorld.org, is the first Mitochondrial Institute project to launch. In Beta phase MitoWorld is a mitochondria portal that acts as a directory, an information site, and a public and medical community education site.
The Mitochondrial Institute is an incubator with a specific focus on advancing the fundamental understanding of mitochondria, their functions in biology and physiology, and their relationship to various mitochondrial diseases and dysfunctions.
A better understanding of mitochondrial functions has the potential to significantly advance our knowledge of primary and secondary mitochondrial diseases, as well as their involvement in numerous potentially lethal diseases and conditions, ultimately supporting overall health.
To spark a mitochondrial revolution, the Institute aims to realign efforts towards unlocking mitochondrial functions, improving diagnostic measures, and leveraging AI and machine learning to analyze the ever-expanding literature, models, and methods in this field.
By incubating in areas of great need, the Mitochondrial Institute seeks to foster and promote deeper understanding and public awareness of mitochondria.
